United Nations General Assembly 4 – Special Political and Decolonization Committee

Discussing viable solutions to resolve The Israel -Palestine Conflict

Chairperson : Aman Sinha

The United Nations General Assembly Fourth Committee, otherwise known as the Special Political and Decolonization Committee, is one of the six main committees of the UN General Assembly. The committee was created to address sensitive political issues and decolonization-related matters ranging from right of self-determination to territorial integrity, recommending solutions to the United Nations Security Council on such disputes.

The Israel-Palestine conflict of Jerusalem has escalated to never before proportions. In the recent developments, Israeli cities like Tel Aviv came under Hamas’s fire, Israel has hit back, destroying buildings and tunnels. In this committee, we will try to decode the cause for the escalation and the options for both sides to resolve the issue. The Palestinian Liberation and the Zionist State shall be the primary stake-holders in the committee along with their allies which back them for the cause.

This committee will be chaired by Aman Sinha who has been associated with SSMUN since its very first edition and has evolved from being a delegate to chairing a committee.
